the Concept to Creation

A hands-on creative workshop led by Vel, Charles McNeill, and Collyn Strother. Designed for emerging and developing creatives, this session focused on exploring how photography, videography, and graphic design work together throughout a project. Participants followed the creative process using DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Lightroom, while learning how concept development, lighting, editing, color grading, typography, and layout came together to create a polished final product.

WHAT WAS TAUGHT?

Participants went behind the scenes of a completed creative project and explored how photography, videography, and graphic design came together to create a cohesive final product. Vel, Charles, and Collyn broke down the creative process from concept development and production through editing and final design.

Using DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Lightroom, participants experienced live demonstrations using mood boards, behind-the-scenes footage, RAW images, video timelines, and original design files. The workshop covered creative direction, lighting, editing, color grading, typography, and layout, showing how each discipline worked together to transform a single idea into a polished final product.
