Shallow Waters is a hands-on creative photography workshop and lighting study led by Jamaal Pegues and Collyn Strother. Designed for intermediate to advanced photographers, this session explores the relationship between light, reflection, and the form; using a custom shallow pool installation at Croo Studios to create moody aesthetics. With a focus on natural water reflections and stylized portraiture, participants will work with professional lighting, a styled model, and guided instruction to capture moody, deep-contrasting images that use water as the main reflection source.
Hosted at Croo Studios in Downtown Fayetteville, the workshop provides space to experiment with reflective lighting techniques, refine camera settings, and collaborate on set design in a focused creative setting. Due to the presence of water on set, participants are expected to exercise extreme care with gear and electronics. Protective measures and safe working practices will be discussed at the start of the session.
These sessions are limited to 6–8 participants and attendees will be randomly selected. If you’re selected, we’ll follow up with a confirmation and event details soon.
